Travellers Defend Bandit Ambush, Thwart Kidnapping Attempt in Zamfara

In a harrowing incident along the Talata Mafara-Gusau highway in Zamfara State, a courageous family of a bride-to-be and other travellers successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt by armed bandits. The ordeal unfolded when the bride's family, accompanied by other passengers, set out on a journey to purchase wedding supplies in Kano. As they traversed the highway, the group was ambushed by bandit terrorists, armed and ready to prey on unsuspecting victims. The armed assailants, wielding AK-47 rifles, targeted the bride-to-be's family and several other travellers, intending to abduct them and demand ransom. In a spontaneous act of bravery and solidarity, the passengers rallied together to confront the bandits and defend themselves. Despite the overwhelming odds, they refused to succumb to fear and fought back against their attackers.   The Kenya Police Service has apprehended Nadeem Anjarawalla, a Binance executive who had fled from custody in Nigeria. Sources indicate that INTERPOL plans to extradite him to Nigeria later this week. A reliable source within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed this development to DAILY POST on Monday. "Anjarawalla has been apprehended in Kenya by the Kenya Police Service with intelligence assistance from INTERPOL. Nigeria is in discussions with INTERPOL regarding his extradition," the source disclosed. Earlier reports had highlighted Anjarawalla's escape from lawful custody in Nigeria and his subsequent discovery in Kenya. The interception took place at Zuba motor park, following a tip-off received by officers of the FCT Command of the NSCDC. The victims, consisting of nine females and one male, aged between 24 and 34, were reportedly being sponsored for illegal migration abroad. According to reports, the victims had traveled to Minna, Niger State, to process their international passports as directed by their sponsor. They claimed to hail from Ondo State and had each paid N80,000 to facilitate the procurement of their passports. The intercepted individuals confessed to being promised migration opportunities abroad, particularly to North Africa and Canada, where they were assured of ready-made jobs.
