Binance Executive Arrested in Kenya for Extradition, Nigerian on the hunt

The Kenya Police Service has apprehended Nadeem Anjarawalla, a Binance executive who had fled from custody in Nigeria. Sources indicate that INTERPOL plans to extradite him to Nigeria later this week.

A reliable source within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed this development to DAILY POST on Monday.

"Anjarawalla has been apprehended in Kenya by the Kenya Police Service with intelligence assistance from INTERPOL. Nigeria is in discussions with INTERPOL regarding his extradition," the source disclosed.

Earlier reports had highlighted Anjarawalla's escape from lawful custody in Nigeria and his subsequent discovery in Kenya.

EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukuyede, had previously stated that the Commission was collaborating with INTERPOL, the US, UK, Northern Ireland, and Kenyan authorities to secure Anjarwalla's extradition.

Anjarwalla and Binance Holdings Limited executives Tigran Gambaryan were charged with five counts, including tax evasion, currency speculation, and money laundering. They were arraigned by the EFCC on April 4, 2024.

It should be noted that Anjarwalla had escaped custody on March 22 and had remained at large since then.
