Dubai has launched a new digital court system, Tanfeeth+, aimed at reducing the time it takes to enforce civil judgments from months to mere minutes. The innovative system will streamline the legal process, making it more efficient and effective.
According to Prof. Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director General of Dubai Courts, "Securing a verdict is just one step towards claiming what is rightfully yours. It's the enforcement of the verdict that will help you reclaim what's yours." Tanfeeth+
will enable judges to access data from various government departments, allowing them to quickly identify and seize assets, issue travel bans, and arrest warrants.
The system will link government and semi-government departments, with plans to expand to federal entities. This integration will eliminate the need for manual searches and requests, saving time and reducing bureaucratic procedures. Judges can now access data on bank accounts, properties, and other assets, enabling them to make informed decisions.
Tanfeeth+ will also facilitate the sale of assets, ensuring that funds are transferred directly to the claimant's bank account. The system will automatically cancel procedures, including travel bans and arrest orders, once a verdict has been executed and dues have been paid.
The development of Tanfeeth+ was a result of extensive fieldwork, customer feedback, and employee feedback, which identified the gaps that needed addressing. The system has been designed to simplify the asset recovery process, reducing delays and stress for claimants.
Legal experts have welcomed the introduction of Tanfeeth+, citing its potential to significantly reduce the burden on claimants. Byron James, a partner at Expatriate Law, noted, "Court proceedings are very stressful, so anything to speed up the process and allow money to be received as soon as possible is welcomed."
Tanfeeth+ is a significant step forward in Dubai's efforts to modernize its legal system, providing a more efficient and effective way to enforce civil judgments. The system's ability to streamline processes, reduce delays, and simplify asset recovery will benefit claimants and enhance the overall efficiency of the legal process in Dubai.
