The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended a suspected ritualist in connection with the attempted murder of a 10-year-old boy. The arrest was made following a distress call from the Ahab, Oke-Foma area of Ilorin, the state capital.
According to the police, the suspect, identified as Isiaka Adeniyi, lured the young boy into a room under the pretense of purchasing pepper. However, he allegedly covered the victim's face with a cloth and attempted to slaughter him with a knife. The quick response and vigilance of community members led to the suspect's apprehension.
The police have commended the proactive nature of the community in assisting with the arrest. A preliminary investigation is currently underway, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
