Minister Blames Vandalism for Delta State Train Derailment, Orders Swift Action to Ensure Passenger Safety

The Minister of Transport, Sen. Said Alkali, has attributed the recent train derailment in Delta State to vandalism of the rail line by deviants. He emphasized that the federal government is addressing such issues and ensuring the safety and welfare of all passengers. Following the derailment on July 4 between Itakpe in Kogi and Ujevwu in Delta, the Minister ordered an investigation and directed the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to promptly restore normalcy. He reassured the public of the safety and welfare of train service users.
