Terrorists kill 12, injure 20 in Kaduna State

On Wednesday, terrorists launched a devastating attack on the Maro Ward in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. The assailants, who invaded the market around 3 pm, shot sporadically, killing 12 people and injuring 20 others.

The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,
while the bodies of the deceased have been recovered. According to a former chairman of the local government, Cafra Caino, this is the second time the weekly market has been attacked by terrorists. He described the situation as critical, with residents fleeing to neighboring villages for safety.

The attack has not only caused loss of lives and injuries but has also affected farming activities in the area. The local market, which is a vital source of livelihood for many residents, has been forced to shut down, leaving many without a means of sustenance.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for confirmation, leaving many questions unanswered. The attack has raised concerns about the security situation in the area and the ability of the authorities to protect citizens.

The attack on the Maro Ward is a stark reminder of the ongoing security challenges facing Nigeria. The government must take decisive action to address the root causes of terrorism and ensure the safety and security of all citizens. The people of Kaduna State deserve to live in peace and security, and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that this is the case.
