A tragic incident occurred on Saturday along the Ore-Okitipupa road in Odigbo local government area of Ondo State, Nigeria, as a sand-laden truck collided with a Haojue Red Suzuki motorcycle, resulting in the death of two individuals. Mrs. Yetunde Adesina, the Ore Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the details of the incident to journalists present at the scene.

According to a witness Mrs. Yetunde Adesina, the accident involved a Mark truck and a Haojue Red Suzuki motorcycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the commercial motorcycle, carrying the victims, made a wrongful maneuver, causing them to fall off the bike just as the truck collided with them.

The victims, two men whose identities have not yet been disclosed, tragically lost their lives in the accident. Their bodies were swiftly transported to the Ore General Hospital morgue for further procedures.

Following the incident, the driver of the truck fled the scene, leaving behind the wreckage of the collision. However, authorities have taken the necessary steps to apprehend the driver, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.

Mrs. Yetunde Adesina also took the opportunity to issue a stern warning to commercial motorcyclists, emphasizing the dangers of reckless driving and wrongful overtaking. She urged them to prioritize road safety measures to prevent such avoidable tragedies from occurring in the future.

In response to the accident, the truck involved has been impounded and taken to the Ore Divisional Police headquarters for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

This unfortunate incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving practices. As authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the accident, efforts must be intensified to enforce stricter adherence to traffic regulations and ensure the safety of all road users in Ondo State and beyond.
