In a tragic turn of events, the Zamfara State Police Command has reported a harrowing incident in Buluku, on the outskirts of Gusau Local Government Area, where bandits attacked and killed a man identified as Ashiru Nagoma. The assailants also abducted his wife and neighbor, sending shockwaves through the community.
Confirming the distressing news, ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the command, revealed that the late Nagoma bravely resisted the attack by the gunmen. However, his valiant efforts were met with tragedy as the bandits fatally wounded him and subsequently abducted his wife and neighbor.
The incident comes shortly after a social media post by a Maiduguri-based security expert, Zagazola Makama, raised concerns about bandit activity in the area. Makama's post alleged that bandits had infiltrated Gusau town and abducted several worshippers during midnight prayers in a mosque.
However, clarifying the situation, ASP Abubakar emphasized that the bandits' primary target was Nagoma, and the mosque was not directly attacked. He elaborated that Nagoma's courageous resistance led to the violent confrontation, resulting in his untimely demise and the abduction of his wife and neighbor.
