"Val Ozigbo Declares Bid for Anambra Governorship in 2025: Promises Renewed Leadership and Zoning Commitment"

Ex-PDP Candidate Val Ozigbo

to Contest Anambra Gubernatorial Election in 2025

Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Val Ozigbo, has announced his intention to run in the 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State. Ozigbo revealed his decision during an interactive session with journalists in Anambra on Saturday, expressing dissatisfaction with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's performance after two years in office.

Ozigbo stated that he waited to assess Soludo's leadership before deciding to contest, emphasizing his lack of satisfaction with Soludo's achievements thus far. He highlighted his commitment to completing the zoning arrangement, which favors the Southern Senatorial Zone, where both he and Soludo hail from.

Expressing his views on governance and accountability, Ozigbo emphasized the need for competent leadership aligned with zoning principles. He advocated for a single term of four years, citing examples from other states such as Abia where notable progress was achieved within a similar timeframe.

Additionally, Ozigbo affirmed his commitment to honoring the zoning principle by pledging to serve just one term if elected. He underscored the importance of consistency and agreement in governance, citing former Governor Peter Obi's stance on the matter.

The announcement marks a significant development in Anambra's political landscape, with Ozigbo positioning himself as a candidate focused on effective governance and development.
