"PDP Launches Unity Drive for 2026 Ekiti Election: Reconciliation Efforts Aim to Forge Stronger Party Cohesion"



In preparation for the upcoming 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has initiated a comprehensive reconciliation process aimed at fostering unity within the party. The state leadership, from grassroots to ward levels, convened at the State Party Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti for a strategic "Unity Meeting" to chart a path towards party cohesion and revitalization.


Senator Biodun Olujimi, addressing party leaders at the event, emphasized the imperative of unity and forgiveness to restore the PDP's former glory. She urged stakeholders to collaborate in resource mobilization efforts, urging a departure from factionalism and a focus on collective progress.


Highlighting the proactive measures taken by the party, State Party Chairman Engr. Alaba Agboola announced the establishment of a reconciliation committee tasked with uniting disparate factions within the PDP. Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi and Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi were appointed as Chairmen of the reconciliation committee, drawing on their experience and influence to facilitate the reconciliation process.


Agboola underscored the significance of the reconciliation initiative in addressing leadership challenges and consolidating the party's strength ahead of the 2026 elections. He urged party members to rally behind the reconciliation efforts, emphasizing the pivotal role of unity in achieving electoral success.


The announcement of the reconciliation drive signals a proactive approach by the PDP leadership to address internal divisions and strengthen the party's position in Ekiti State politics. As preparations for the 2026 governorship election gather momentum, the PDP's commitment to unity and cohesion emerges as a cornerstone of its electoral strategy.
