Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have reportedly abducted a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), identified as Oyinyechi, in Ebonyi State.
Sources reveal that the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday around 4 a.m., when DSS operatives stormed the area where the corps member was staying. She was allegedly whisked away to the agency’s Abakaliki office before being transferred to an undisclosed location.
The reasons behind Oyinyechi’s arrest remain unclear, and as of the time of filing this report, the DSS has not issued any official statement. Her whereabouts also remain unknown, raising fears among colleagues and family members.
The development has sparked concerns over the safety of corps members posted to volatile regions and the increasing reports of arbitrary arrests by Nigeria’s secret police.
