Fraud Allegations; Jude Okoye Responds to Peter Okoye Amidst P-Square Controversy

August 18, 2024 – Jude Okoye, the long-time manager and elder brother of the defunct P-Square duo, has addressed the recent controversy surrounding the group members, Peter and Paul Okoye, in an Instagram live session. The dispute, which reignited public interest, revolves around allegations made by Peter Okoye, aka Mr. P, who accused his twin brother Paul, aka Rudeboy, and their elder brother Jude of defrauding him.

This latest dispute surfaced when Paul revealed in an interview that the group had broken up again. He blamed Peter for dragging both him and Jude into a legal battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraudulent dealings. Peter, in response, wrote an open letter accusing Paul and Jude of conspiring to defraud him.

Reacting to the accusations, Jude Okoye rejected Peter’s claims of fraud, stating that his brother had manipulated the situation to paint him in a negative light. Jude expressed frustration over constantly being dragged into the feud, especially because many people expect him, as the eldest sibling, to resolve the conflict.

"Why is it that Peter always involves me in their fight?" Jude questioned during his live session. "It’s because people have this impression that Jude, the elder one, should go and settle his brothers."

Jude clarified that the company at the center of the allegations, Northside Music, was not a secretive operation but rather a legitimate business established in 2013, with Peter's full knowledge and participation. He emphasized that the division of royalties was pre-agreed, with him receiving 40%, while Peter and Paul each received 30%.

Regarding the EFCC involvement, Jude stated that he had done nothing wrong and expressed disappointment in how the situation had escalated. He denied diverting any funds and maintained that his share was legitimate and transparent, per their business arrangement.

The feud between the Okoye brothers, which began in 2013 and culminated in their official split in 2016, continues to be fraught with tension. Both Jude and Peter have suggested that they will release further evidence to substantiate their respective claims as the controversy unfolds.
