Kano State students have alleged that politicians who lost the 2023 general elections are behind the planned nationwide protest. Comrade Yahaya Usman Kabo, Chairman of the Kano State Students Council, alongside other officials, addressed a press conference in Kano, distancing themselves from the mass action.
Kabo urged Nigerian students to avoid the protest, asserting that Kano State students, under his leadership, will not participate in any antigovernment demonstrations. He commended President Bola Tinubu for initiatives such as the Students Loan and National Youth Investment Programme, aimed at supporting students.
Kabo stated, “It has come to our notice that some bad eggs from opposition parties are calling Kano State Students to come out and protest. The genesis or cause is not the economic hardship, but because they lost the election and don’t want to accept it in good faith. They want to cause violence and chaos.”
He assured that the Federal Government is addressing economic challenges and urged students to ignore any calls for protests against the government.
