Tragic Road Mishaps Claim 19 Lives, Leave 49 Injured in Kaduna and Ogun States
In separate incidents in Kaduna and Ogun states, a total of 19 individuals lost their lives, while 49 others sustained injuries in devastating road accidents.
In Kaduna, a horrific crash near the MRS Filling Station on Ahmadu Bello Way claimed the lives of 13 individuals and left 40 others injured. The accident, involving a trailer transporting onions and passengers atop the goods, occurred around 11 pm on Friday. According to Kaduna State Sector Commander Kabir Y. Nadabo, the tragedy was caused by overspeeding and overloading.
Meanwhile, in Ogun State, six individuals lost their lives and nine others were injured in separate road accidents between Friday and Saturday. One fatal crash occurred at Iyana Odogo on the Ilaro-Owode road, claiming two lives and injuring one individual. Another accident on the Ijebu Ode-Ore road resulted in three injuries and two fatalities.
These heart-wrenching incidents underscore the importance of road safety measures and the need for vigilance while traveling.
