President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday met with Nigeria’s former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, in Kaduna, pledging to sustain the legacy of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The closed-door meeting, which held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, was part of Tinubu’s ongoing consultations with key political figures and stakeholders across the North.
According to presidency sources, discussions focused on national unity, women empowerment, and continuity of policy frameworks initiated under Buhari’s administration.
President Tinubu assured Mrs. Buhari of his administration’s commitment to consolidating on the achievements of the former president, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, and security reforms.
The former First Lady, in her remarks, commended the president’s outreach and urged him to remain focused on policies that prioritize education, healthcare, and the welfare of women and children.
Political observers see the meeting as part of efforts to bolster alliances within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and strengthen ties with the Buhari political bloc ahead of upcoming policy battles in Abuja.
