A heavy-duty truck sparked commotion in Ilorin on Saturday morning when it resisted a traffic stop while carrying a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO). The incident, which occurred around 9:00 a.m. along Taiwo Road, was captured on video and is attached to this report.
The truck was reportedly moving from the A Division area toward Taiwo Road when a traffic officer attempted to stop it. A VIO officer, riding a motorcycle, also joined the chase and tried to block the vehicle to force compliance.
Eyewitnesses said the driver initially refused to stop, allegedly insisting that an officer was already inside the truck. The vehicle only pulled over after realizing it was being pursued by enforcement officers.
The footage further shows one of the occupants of the truck making phone calls during the incident, raising suspicion that he may have been contacting outside parties for assistance.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not released an official statement on the incident.
