In the early hours of Friday, August 16, 2024, terrorists attacked Matusgi village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area, Zamfara State, and abducted 10 residents. According to local sources, the assailants, heavily armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the community around 2:00 am, firing sporadically to create panic. Despite the fear, no fatalities were reported.
Residents initially claimed that about 30 individuals, including a woman and a sick man, had been taken. However, the Zamfara State Police Command later confirmed that 10 people had been kidnapped during the attack.
The police spokesperson, Yezid Abubakar, assured that a team had been dispatched to track down the terrorists and ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.
