The kidnapped children of Kaduna Judge, Janet Gimba, have been rescued and reunited with their family. The judge and her four children were abducted on June 23, 2024, when bandits stormed their residence. The bandits released the judge on Sunday and demanded a N150m ransom for the release of her children, giving a three-day ultimatum. Tragically, the eldest child was killed before the mother was released.
The children were rescued after a successful operation conducted by security forces. The judge's husband, Dr. Musa Gimba, confirmed that he and his wife were reunited with their three surviving children on July 9, 2024. He expressed his gratitude to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and his office, the Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, the Kaduna State Government, and various security forces for their efforts in ensuring the rescue of his children.
Despite the tragic loss of their eldest son, the Gimba family is thankful for the safe return of their three surviving children and the efforts of all those involved in the rescue operation.
