"Nigerian Army Releases Delta Monarch Detained Over Okuama Massacre"

In a significant development following the Okuama massacre, the Nigerian Army has made a crucial decision to release the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom, Clement Ikolo. This decision was conveyed to the public by the Army's spokesman, Major General Clement Nwachukwu, who clarified that Ikolo's release was facilitated in collaboration with Senator Ede Dafinone, the representative of Delta Central.

Addressing reporters, Major General Nwachukwu emphasized that the release of Clement Ikolo stemmed from the lack of evidence linking him to the tragic killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama. Despite his release, the Army spokesperson noted that no evidence exonerates Ikolo as of yet.

The traditional ruler of Ewu had surrendered to the police after he and several others were declared wanted by the military in connection with the killing of 17 army personnel in Okuama on March 14th.

The police handed him over to the military, and for nearly a month, he has been in custody of the army.

Last month, 17 Army personnel were murdered in Okuama while on a peacekeeping mission.
