Rise Like Esther, Heal Nigeria, No Nation Can Prosper Without Women’s Impact, - Evangelist Adeboye

The Chairman of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Kwara State chapter, Evangelist Thomas Adeboye, has called on Christians, especially women, to embrace forgiveness, peace, and unity as key virtues for building strong families and a better nation.

Delivering his keynote address at the 17th Annual OAIC Women and Children Convention in Ilorin, Evangelist Adeboye expressed deep respect for women, describing them as the backbone of every successful man and society.

“No man can truly succeed in life without the support of a woman, whether as a mother, sister, or wife. Likewise, no organisation or nation can achieve its vision without the impactful contributions of women,” he said.

Citing the biblical example of Queen Esther (Esther 4:12–16), Adeboye urged women to rise and use their God-given wisdom and strength to intercede for the nation in these challenging times marked by insecurity, kidnapping, and economic hardship.

“As we face these trials, women of faith must stand firm. A godly woman is known by her deep love for God, which reflects in a life of righteousness, spiritual growth, and service to others,” he added while declaring the convention open.

In her remarks, the Mother-General and Assistant Director of OAIC, Prophetess Bosede Adimabua, described the convention’s theme — “Let the Woman of God in You Stand” — as both timely and divinely inspired. She emphasised the crucial role of women in restoring moral values and peace in society.

“Just as Esther rose in times of crisis to save her people, Nigerian women must also rise to intercede, take decisive action, and champion righteousness in their homes and communities,” Adimubua said.

In her own address, Rev. Mother Abimbola Olobatoke, also drawing inspiration from Queen Esther’s courageous declaration — “If I perish, I perish” — urged Christian women to be brave and steadfast in this critical period of human history, as Nigeria faces numerous social and economic challenges.

The event featured goodwill messages from several dignitaries, including Primate (Dr.) M.S. Olobatoke, immediate past Chairman of the North Central Zone; Dr. A.A. Agboola of Olufunmilayo Records; and Pastor Olatunde Oladokun, Chairman of SEAP Holdings Company, Ilorin, among others.
