NAF Warns Personnel Against Partisan Politics, Urges Loyalty to Nation

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has cautioned its personnel to steer clear of partisan politics and focus on their constitutional duties to the nation.

The Air Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command, Bauchi, Air Vice Marshal Usman Abdullahi, gave the warning on Saturday during the 2025 annual 10-kilometre walk and jog exercise organised by the NAF in Bauchi.

Mr Abdullahi reminded officers and airmen that the military remains a non-political institution, urging them to remain professional, disciplined, and loyal to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Commander-in-Chief.

“You must remain apolitical. Don’t involve yourselves in any political activities or any act that undermines the integrity of the military profession,” Abdullahi said.

He explained that the exercise was not only designed to promote physical fitness but also to strengthen unity, alertness, and esprit de corps among NAF personnel.

The Air Officer commended the Bauchi State government for its continuous support and cooperation with the command, particularly in maintaining peace and security within the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by his deputy, Auwal Jatau, lauded the NAF for fostering teamwork and discipline through the annual exercise, describing it as a symbol of unity and shared purpose among security agencies.

“The participation of officers from the Air Force, sister security agencies, paramilitary services, and the NYSC is a testament to the harmony and solidarity we enjoy in Bauchi State,” the governor said.

He noted that physical fitness, endurance, and teamwork were not only essential to security operations but also vital qualities for success in all spheres of life.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining collaboration with the military and other security agencies to ensure the state’s continued peace and development.

At least 32 participants, including NAF officers, personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Customs Service, and civilians, received awards for outstanding performance during the event.
