The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Environmental Protection Authority (KEPA), Dr. Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu, has resigned his position, signaling his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a resignation letter dated September 9, 2025, and addressed to the Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Arrigasiyyu stated that his decision was voluntary and effective immediately. He wished Governor Uba Sani a “successful tenure in office.”
Arrigasiyyu, a close ally of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Hajj Commission before his appointment as KEPA boss on December 12, 2023.
Sources confirmed that his resignation is tied to ongoing realignments in Kaduna politics, with the ADC making inroads as a major opposition platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His defection adds to the growing list of high-profile exits from the APC in the state, underscoring widening cracks in the ruling party’s structure.
