Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is scheduled to deliver a statewide broadcast on Friday evening, marking his formal return to office after months of political upheaval.
The governor announced the broadcast during a media interaction at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where he was received by senior state officials, security chiefs, and supporters. The address is expected to be delivered at 6 p.m.
Fubara, who arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Thursday to a large crowd of supporters, acknowledged the strong show of solidarity from residents, describing it as a reaffirmation of the bond between the government and the people.
Upon arrival at the Government House on Friday, the governor inspected his official residence before proceeding to his office, accompanied by his wife and top government functionaries, including his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
The governor’s message is anticipated to outline his policy direction, provide clarity on governance priorities, and reassure Rivers residents of stability following recent political tensions.
