Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has responded to serious allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Abubakar Isah, during a press conference held on Wednesday.
Comrade Isah had alleged that Seyi Tinubu, alongside Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him a N100 million bribe to support President Tinubu’s administration—a proposition he claimed to have rejected due to what he described as the administration's poor performance.
Isah further claimed he was abducted on April 15, during which he was physically assaulted and coerced into making statements under duress. He alleged that the perpetrators threatened to release compromising videos and boasted that any fallout would be covered up at the behest of Seyi Tinubu.
Despite the alleged threats, Isah said he proceeded with the NANS inauguration, during which he was formally declared President of the association.
In response, Seyi Tinubu, through posts on his verified Instagram account on Friday, firmly denied all allegations.
“Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? This is an attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah,” he wrote.
In a subsequent statement, he added, “I have never held any meeting or discussion with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him, and I did not attend any location with thugs. These allegations are entirely false and fictional.”
As of the time of reporting, Minister Ayodele Olawande and other parties mentioned have yet to issue formal responses.
