In a coordinated attack by the military in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a notorious bandit leader named Kachalla Ragas has been killed, along with several other terrorists. The operation, known as Operation Whirl Punch, involved ground and air strikes and successfully targeted the bandits, including their leaders, at a meeting point near Bula community within Yadi Forest in Giwa LGA.
The strike was based on credible intelligence and followed the recent elimination of some bandit kingpins along the Kaduna-Katsina border areas. The bandits were observed converging at the location for a meeting on a deadly mission within the Yadi Forest area. The military closely monitored their movements and confirmed the presence of the bandits at the location. Subsequently, the location was struck, resulting in the neutralization of several bandits, including Kachalla Ragas, who was an ally and childhood friend of the previously neutralized Buharin Yadi.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, expressed satisfaction and commended the security forces for their quick response, diligent efforts, and precise execution. The success of the operation was attributed to crucial intelligence provided by various sources.
Citizens are encouraged to continue providing useful information on suspicious movements to the State's Security Operations Room via the phone lines 09034000060 and 08170189999.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to combat banditry and restore peace and security in the affected regions. The elimination of key bandit leaders is seen as a significant step towards dismantling their networks and reducing the threat they pose to communities.
