The arrest followed a complaint received on May 4, 2024, at approximately 9 pm at the Mokwa Division, reporting the theft of a POS machine at Kainji junction. Mohammed confessed to the theft, admitting that he replaced the stolen machine with a faulty one from his possession. He subsequently withdrew N293,000 from the machine after observing the attendant and copying the password. Mohammed stated that he used the stolen funds to place bets on SportsBet.
