Three Suspected Yoruba Nation Agitators Killed as Security Operatives Arrest Several in Oyo State Secretariat Clash

In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, a tragic confrontation ensued between security operatives and individuals suspected to be Yoruba nation agitators, resulting in the death of at least three individuals and the arrest of several others. The incident occurred at the Oyo State Secretariat, where the agitators reportedly attempted to take over the seat of government.

Reports indicate that the agitators, believed to be proponents of the Yoruba Nation movement, stormed the Secretariat compound, which houses critical government institutions such as the governor’s office, the House of Assembly, ministries, agencies, and various departments. Their intent, allegedly, was to assert control over the state's administrative hub.

Upon encountering resistance from security personnel stationed at the Secretariat, a violent clash erupted, leading to the tragic loss of three lives among the agitators.
