"London to Lagos: Adventurous Solo Driver Rewarded with House, Car, and Ambassadorship by Lagos State Governor"

The Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday appointed a Nigerian-British citizen, Ms Pelumi Nubi, who embarked on a road trip from London to Lagos as Lagos Tourism Ambassador. Sanwo-Olu also presented a house and a branded LAGRIDE vehicle with the customised number plate NUBI 9JA to the 28-year-old adventurer.

Nubi arrived in Lagos on Sunday to a rousing welcome after travelling on the road for over two months. While hosting Nubi at the State House Marina on Monday alongside her parents, Prof. Timothy and Olubukola; CEO/Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folashade Ogunsola, among others, Sanwo-Olu described Pelumi’s adventure as inspirational.

Sanwo-Olu hinted that President Bola Tinubu was willing to meet with her. The discussion with Trump covers Ukraine, the war in Gaza, and the future of NATO.

Cameron’s discussion with Trump, believed to be the first such meeting by a senior UK minister with Trump since he left office, covers Ukraine, the war in Gaza, and the future of NATO, according to a report in the Telegraph.

Trump has repeatedly voiced misgivings about aid to Ukraine and questioned America’s commitment to NATO, the international alliance which the US has committed to defending when necessary.

On his visit to Washington, Cameron will warn that success for Kyiv in defeating Russia is “vital for American and European security” as he urges lawmakers across to approve “urgent” further assistance for the country.
