"Fitness Concerns Arise Over Olubadan-Designate's Readiness for Throne, Otun Balogun Raises Alarm"

The Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abimbola Ajibola, has raised concerns about the readiness of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, to ascend the throne, citing worries about his current state of health.

Oba Ajibola expressed these doubts during a press briefing held at his residence in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State. He emphasized that Oba Olakulehin is presently indisposed and may not be physically fit to assume the responsibilities associated with the Olubadan throne.

The Otun Balogun further questioned the haste in pushing for Oba Olakulehin's coronation, highlighting the absence of communication from the designated ruler. He noted that Oba Olakulehin has not reached out to him or engaged with the people of Ibadan, raising concerns about the transparency and legitimacy of the coronation process.

The Olubadan stool became vacant following the passing of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, who reigned for two years before his demise at the age of 81.

While Oba Olakulehin's appointment as the next Olubadan appears imminent, there are lingering doubts and questions regarding his readiness and suitability for the revered position. These concerns underscore the need for a thorough evaluation of the coronation process to ensure transparency and adherence to established norms and traditions.
