"JAMB Extends Direct Entry Registration Deadline: Last Chance for Candidates as Two-Week Extension Announced!"

"JAMB Extends Direct Entry Registration Deadline by Two Weeks Amid Certificate Verification Challenges"

In response to challenges faced by prospective candidates during the Direct Entry registration process, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a two-week extension. Originally scheduled to conclude on March 28, 2024, the registration period will now end on April 11, 2024.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's Public Communication Advisor, acknowledged the difficulties encountered by candidates, particularly concerning security screening measures aimed at curbing the circulation of fake A’level certificates. These measures, while crucial for maintaining integrity, have posed obstacles for some applicants.

The decision to extend the registration period aims to accommodate all intending candidates and address the challenges they face. Dr. Benjamin expressed regret for any inconveniences caused and assured candidates that efforts would be made to streamline the process and enhance user-friendliness in the future.

Emphasizing JAMB's commitment to upholding standards, Dr. Benjamin stated that the Board would not compromise on verifying the authenticity of candidates' certificates. Those found to possess dubiously acquired certificates will be ineligible for admission.

Furthermore, candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions have failed to verify their credentials despite repeated requests will not be permitted to register until the necessary verification is completed.

This extension provides a crucial opportunity for late applicants to complete their registration for Direct Entry into tertiary institutions. It also underscores JAMB's dedication to ensuring a fair and transparent admissions process.

As the registration deadline approaches, prospective candidates are urged to take advantage of the extended period to complete their registration and avoid any last-minute complications.

This decision aligns with JAMB's ongoing efforts to enhance the credibility and integrity of the admissions process, safeguarding the interests of both candidates and educational institutions.
