"Enhanced Security: Ogun CP Ensures Peaceful Easter at Worship Centres with 24-Hour Surveillance"

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has issued a directive for 24-hour surveillance around worship centres during and after the Easter celebration. This directive aims to ensure the safety and security of residents and worshippers during the festive period.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Omolola Odutola, Alamutu emphasized the need for enhanced security measures at various public spaces, including worship centres, financial institutions, and identified black spots across the state.

The directive mandates area commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to implement round-the-clock security operations in their respective jurisdictions. They are tasked with safeguarding these areas against crime and criminality, especially during the peak of the Easter celebration.

Alamutu highlighted specific locations along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, such as Long Bridge, Bamboo, Four Square, Alapako, Onigari, Ogunmakin, and Straightgate, as well as worship centres, where security measures will be intensified. These areas will witness an increased presence of police officers to deter any potential threats and ensure the safety of residents and worshippers.

The statement also emphasized the importance of cooperation from residents and fun-seekers with security personnel deployed across the state. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Furthermore, intelligence-based policing strategies will be employed to effectively combine efforts with other security agencies and prevent sudden attacks or escalation of violence during the Easter celebration.

The directive comes amidst efforts by law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order and create a conducive environment for peaceful celebrations across Ogun State.
