Bournemouth Coach Iraola Wary of Iwobi Threat Ahead of Fulham Clash

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has singled out Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi as one of Fulham’s most dangerous weapons ahead of their Premier League encounter at the Vitality Stadium later today.

The Cherries, currently sitting sixth in the table with three wins from six matches, host Marco Silva’s Fulham, who are 11th in the standings, in what promises to be a tightly contested clash.

Speaking to the BBC UK in the build-up to the fixture, Iraola admitted that Fulham’s technical quality and link-up play, particularly involving Iwobi, Josh King, and Ryan Sessegnon, could trouble his side if not contained.

Iraola, who previously managed Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Club, praised Fulham’s possession-based style and depth in attack, noting that players like Samuel Chukwueze and Emile Smith Rowe provide Silva with multiple options from the bench.

While highlighting the threat posed by Fulham’s attack, the Spanish tactician also underlined the importance of Bournemouth’s defensive stability, particularly the role of centre-back Marcos Senesi, who remains key in both defensive duties and set-piece situations.

Iwobi, meanwhile, heads into the game in fine form. The Nigerian international enjoyed his most productive Premier League campaign last season, contributing nine goals and six assists, and has continued to be a pivotal figure for the Cottagers this term.

Kick-off at the Vitality Stadium is expected to draw significant attention as both teams look to strengthen their positions in the league table.
