Tragedy as Comedian Sanku Reportedly Dies in Fatal Accident

Popular Nigerian comedian, Sanku, has reportedly passed away following a fatal car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Confirming the news in an emotional TikTok video, fellow content creator Jidex Klothing broke down in tears, saying: “We make plans for life, but none of us knows what life has planned for us.”

The heartbreaking announcement came hours after videos surfaced online showing the wreckage of the vehicle in which Sanku was traveling. According to Jidex, multiple passengers were affected, but the comedian’s injuries were critical.

The news has since sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with fans and colleagues expressing disbelief and sending condolences. Many recalled that Sanku had only posted online a day before, writing: “When it’s time for us to enjoy all we worked for, may we not lose our life.”

Tributes have poured in from fans who described him as a source of laughter and light. One mourner wrote: “This is too much. Untimely death is not our portion. RIP Sanku.” Another added: “I never cry for anyone before, but this one broke me.”

Sanku’s death adds to a recent wave of tragedies within the entertainment community, leaving followers shaken and reflecting on the fleeting nature of life.
