A staff member of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Yusuf Ibrahim Kasimu, was reportedly murdered late Tuesday night in the Tudun Kauri area of Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Kasimu, 37, was found near the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, close to the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), with severe head injuries and lying in a pool of blood. According to eyewitnesses, he may have been attacked by individuals he attempted to help, who subsequently fled with his motorcycle.
His identity was confirmed by family members at the scene. Speaking to the press, his uncle, Umaru Kasimu, condemned the killing and urged security agencies to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.
The incident has intensified public concern over the recent increase in violent crimes in Lafia and surrounding areas, prompting renewed calls for improved security measures.
