A heavy downpour in the Iyana-Oworo area has caused significant flooding, leading to a massive gridlock that has extended to the 3rd Mainland Bridge and Alapere.

The flood, which has made the road almost impassable, has resulted in a long traffic jam that is affecting commuters traveling to the city center.

Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has assured residents that the flash flood will subside soon.

The flash flood at Olopo Meji, caused by heavy rain and high lagoon levels, is expected to subside within one to two hours.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) has cleared a fallen tree around Airport U-turn in Oshodi, restoring traffic flow in the area.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and consider alternative routes to avoid the flooded areas.

The Lagos State Government is working to ensure the safety of residents and restore normalcy to the affected areas.
