Breaking: Tinubu sacks DG of Bpp appointed By Buhari

President Bola Tinubu has relieved Mamman Ahmadu of his duties as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and has appointed Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi as the new DG of the BPE. Gbeleyi is described as a renowned financial expert and award-winning chartered accountant, with over 30 years of post-qualification experience in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, investment & commercial banking, project finance, telecommunications, infrastructure, and public administration. He has also held significant positions such as the board Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and Commissioner of Finance in Lagos State from 2013 to 2015.

The President expects the new Director-General to bring his vast experience and competence to bear in this role to strengthen the agency as the national resource center for capacity building and the sustenance of reforms through the promotion of a competitive private sector-driven economy, ensuring social accountability and efficient deployment of public resources, as well as advancing effective corporate governance and fiduciary discipline in the public and private sectors.

This leadership change at the BPE reflects President Tinubu's commitment to restructuring and repositioning critical agencies of the Federal Government to enhance their contributions to the nation's economy and protect the rights of Nigerian consumers.

The appointment of Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi as the new Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) underlines President Tinubu's focus on strengthening key government agencies and promoting effective governance and economic development.
