Family of Late Kogi Gov. Denies Sheltering Yahaya Bello

The family of the late Prince Abubakar Audu, former governor of Kogi State, has vehemently refuted rumors circulating on social media alleging that the immediate past governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, is hiding in their family house in Ogbonocha, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Mohammed Abubakar, son of Prince Audu, clarified that their family residence in Ogbonocha serves only as a private dwelling for members of the Audu family and is not a sanctuary for any political figure, past or present. He emphasized that the claim of harboring Yahaya Bello is entirely false.

In a statement addressing the speculations, Abubakar underscored the family's commitment to honesty and integrity, values epitomized by Prince Abubakar Audu throughout his life. He urged the public to exercise caution and discernment when encountering such sensationalist claims, dismissing them as baseless conjecture aimed at causing confusion.

The Audu family remains dedicated to upholding the truth and preserving the memory of their late patriarch, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Meanwhile, reports had surfaced alleging that Yahaya Bello sought refuge in the Audu family house following the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) raid on his residence in Abuja, during which he evaded arrest. However, the family has categorically denied these claims, reiterating their commitment to honesty and integrity.
